On February 11th, RIS pupils met with Nina Dashevskaya, children’s writer and musician.

Nina has twice won the national "Knigur" competition for children's and teenage literature, and she is also a professional musician, so her books are always full of music. The writer told the children about life in musical theatre and how, in the  modern world, literary works and theatrical performances influence and complement each other. Nina travels a lot around the country and holds meetings with readers of all ages where she initiates and leads interesting discussions on writer’s ethics, the creation of modern text, and the literary process.

At the meeting, Nina told us about her new book,   “Theo: Theatre Captain”. This is a book in which the life of an orchestra and musical theatre is opened to readers from a very unusual side: mice living in a theatre who talk about it like at home and experience their own amazing adventures.

Along with Nina came the famous Bumper bus, full of new books and exciting stories, where the pupils could choose a new interesting book to read during the break.

The meeting was held as part of RIS’ Literature and Language Month.
