FEBRUARY - news review

February ended at the Russian International School - the month of “Russian Language and Literature”.
As part of this month, we held Olympiads in the Russian language, and there were also many creative events that aimed at developing children's interest in Russian classical literature, creativity and, of course, instill a love of reading.

 Golden Shelf Project
Among the students, the Golden Shelf project took place.  The guys brought home their favorite books, which impressed them, and were happy to talk about their favorite literature.  Children shared their favorite books with friends.

Theatrical lessons
For high school students, our teachers conducted theatrical literature lessons!  Pupils plunged into the era of the 19th century and got acquainted with the work of the great Russian writer A.P. Chekhov.  The guys played a staging of the stories “Thin and Fat”, “Chameleon” and “Death of an Official”, felt like real actors and got used to their roles perfectly.

Pupils prepared a theatrical performance for elementary grades based on the tale of A.S.  Pushkin - “The Tale of the Dead Princess and 7 Athletes” and performed brightly on the stage, receiving joyful applause from the guys!

Meeting with the writer
Among students of secondary and high schools, a meeting was held with the writer - Daria Dotsuk. Daria Dotsuk is a children's writer, blogger, journalist.  Graduated with honors from the Faculty of International Journalism at MGIMO.
The students listened very carefully and asked their questions.  And after the story about the book, Daria advised the children to read the literature that impressed her most.

Theater trips
Also, in February, students of the Russian International School visited the Russian Academic Youth Theater and the Moscow Puppet Theater.  We believe that it is very important to develop a love of creativity and join the culture from childhood!
As part of the Russian Language and Literature, the Bumper Publishing Book bus arrived at the school and delighted our young readers all day.

According to Russian traditions, Maslenitsa festivities are organized on the last day of February! And in RIS we did not forget this holiday!  Pupils had fun in the fresh air, sang, danced and saw off the winter!  As in ancient times, we at our school burned a scarecrow of Shrovetide!
