In Key Stage 4, pupils sit their first formal examinations, the IGCSEs. These examinations are taken after a period of two full academic years of study and provide pupils with a solid grounding in each of the subjects. At the end of Key Stage 4, based on their enjoyment/interest in subjects, as well as how they performed in the IGCSE examinations, pupils choose what subjects they wish to study at AS-Level. From September 2018, RIS will offer pupils the opportunity to study English, English Literature, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, business studies and either French or German at IGCSE level.
