GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Russian International School has fully implemented two programmes: Russian and International.

The curriculum is full of activities aimed at the diversified development of the child. At the same time, the school ensures that the pupils are not overloaded with content from both the programmes.

The school day is divided into blocks - Russian and International. Each of them provides an optimal combination of lessons, recreation, sports and walks.

The international RIS programme is based on the English National Curriculum. This programme is followed by many schools around the world. One of the most important tasks of the international RIS programme is preparing students for the IGCSE and A-LEVEL exams and for entering the best universities in the world.

The Russian RIS programme complies with the norms of the Federal State Educational Standard of General Education and is supplemented by approved author's developments and methods aimed at the comprehensive, harmonious development of the child's intellect and personality.

PRINCIPLES OF TRAINING AT RUSSIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

THE PRINCIPLE OF CONTINUITY

RIS includes all stages of education of children from 2 to 17 years. This allows teachers of one level to direct the work to the requirements that will be presented to the students at the next stage, and for teachers of a higher stage to rely on the knowledge and experience of children received at the previous stage.

THE PRINCIPLE OF DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING

Learning in RIS leads to development, and also actively creates prerequisites for it.

THE INSEPARABLE CONNECTION BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE

RIS pedagogues are convinced that it is practice that is the basis of knowledge. Although it is important for us that the students understand the importance of theoretical knowledge in life, it is essential that they know how to apply them.

FLEXIBILITY AND ADAPTABILITY OF THE LEARNING PROCESS

Training in RIS is always personalized. As there are no two identical children, there are no two identical trajectories of development of RIS students. All educational and educational processes of the school are created taking into account the propensities, abilities and needs of a particular child.

PRINCIPLE OF ACTIVITY OF STUDENTS

The structure of education necessarily includes two participants - a teacher and a student. Learning is not a passive acquisition of information. We encourage thinking, experimentation, the promotion of hypotheses and ideas, and discussions amongst our pupils.

PRINCIPLE OF PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

The process of learning in RIS is not simply the accumulation of knowledge, but the development of a harmonious, comprehensively developed, self-confident personality.

EDUCATORS

All RIS teachers are highly skilled and experienced professionals who love their work and are always ready to help the child achieve his full potential.

Teachers of the school have a large arsenal of teaching methods, creatively apply new pedagogical techniques that allow the child's thinking to be awakened, and stimulate his intellect and personal development. In addition, all teachers actively use information and computer technologies and multimedia support in their work.

Thanks to the intimacy of the school and the small number of children in the classrooms, each student receives more attention, control and assistance, which allows for greater academic progress.

MONITORING PROGRESS

Monitoring  successes and difficulties is an important component of the educational programme of RIS. As a result, both school and independent diagnostic tests are regularly conducted. The purpose of these tests is not simply to attain a mark, but to allow teachers to identify those aspects that need special attention when working with each student. In addition, this practice allows the school to monitor the academic performance of the student in accordance with high international and Russian standards of education.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

RIS not only provides students with a strong academic base, but also expands and enriches their experience through a variety of extra-curricular activities, supplementary activities, and educational visits.

In addition, the school offers a whole range of additional extracurricular disciplines, which gives everyone an opportunity to choose an activity that interests them. Thus, a child can succeed not only within the academic programme, but also in any other areas of interest to him.
